These even flavored and textured steaks are simply filets from the Eye of Round Roast. Each of these lean medallion steaks are 3/4 of an inch thick and weigh in at about a third to three quarters of a pound each. Note that this steak is not incredibly tender, but is an excellent choice for marinades! We've successfully pulled off grilling these not-so-tender steaks after a long marinade, and because of their thinness and grain confirmation, they successfully imbibe marinade easily. An overnight marinade is ideal followed by a hot-medium rare grilling technique. These steaks will then create a lightweight flavorful fare perfect for lunch or even fajitas--all without wiping out your budget! Eye of round steaks are very similar to the top sirloin in flavor, and if you deal with the tenderness, they perform perfectly. Have no grill? Long simmering in tomato sauces like a "swiss steak" presentation also provides a wonderful pairing with rice, risottos or pastas! You can also marinate these and turn them into fajitas!
Thickness: 3/4-1". These steaks vary in size a little bit, so we are selling them by the two pound lot. You'll usually get 3-5 steaks in a 2 lb batch!
