This is the perfect overnight facial lotion. It goes on smooth & beautifully moisturizes your skin. Put on a thin layer right before bed!
Note: this lotion, you'll note, is more expensive than our other tallow lotions. This is because the ingredients used in this lotion are significantly more expensive, and the rendering process to make this lotion is quite time-consuming.
How it's made: This is a tallow-based lotion, but the tallow is slowly rendered with organic vanilla beans and calendula flowers grown with no fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, or other sprays. Calendula has been shown to benefit skin and reduce acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties. The calendula we use was grown right here on Alderspring and dried for several weeks before being infused with tallow. Calendula gives this lotion a slightly yellow tinge, but it won't appear yellow once absorbed onto your skin.
After rendering this tallow, we add a few certified organic, cold-pressed carrier oils that are known to benefit skin, including rosehip oil (hydrates, protects from sun damage, rejuvinates skin barrier), milk thistle oil (hydrates, soothes irritation and redness), grapeseed oil (often used for wound healing and scar reduction), and borage oil (antibacterial, known to moisturize without clogging pores). Finally, we add a few certified organic essential oils: rosemary (known to hydrate while controlling oil production), frankincense (has been shown to help reduce acne and heal other skin conditions), and eucalyptus (often used to reduce inflammation and lighten scars/dark spots). Finally, we mix in local beeswax, which creates a protective barrier on your skin that softens and moisturizes without clogging pores.
The result of all these ingredients? A natural facial lotion with a "Powerhouse" of skin healing ingredients!
Comes in a 2 oz jar OR in a mini .5 oz jar, but be aware that the actual weight of the lotion is about 1.6 oz and .3 oz.
Note: If you've never used tallow on your face before, some people report that switching to tallow lotions after using harmful, chemical-based skincare products was a bit of an adjustment period. Give this lotion a trial of about 2 weeks to give your skin time to adjust before you decide if it's working for you or not! A mini sample tin should be enough to last you about 2 weeks.

We recommend a skin patch test before using this balm on your face. To test, simply put the balm in a less sensitive location (for example, arm) to ensure you have no skin reaction before using on your face. This balm is safe to use and made from all-natural, clean ingredients, but it contains essential oils, which may cause a reaction for a very small percentage of individuals.
